Peanuts

When I first started feeding the birds I only had a peanut feeder and a seed cake. The peanuts went well and so when I did some shopping I bought two bags. But with the suet treats and sunflower hearts the peanuts are virtually ignored. So today I decided to crush up what was left in the first bag and added some to the sunflower hearts and tipped the rest on the ground. I had barely got indoors when a flock of starlings came.

I managed to catch the iridescent sheen on the back of this one below. I seem to have two regular blackbird visitors, a male and female and I wonder if they are a pair as they often come together. They came with the starlings but stayed a little longer.
