March already

Since my last post I've seen a wren a couple of days but it hasn't come down to the garden to feed. The dunnock has been several times as has a robin and the goldfinches. There seems to be just 3 blackbirds visiting (at least when I'm watching) and the don't appear to like each other much. Today was the first time I'd seen a blue tit for a couple of weeks. In the evenings, when it's been quite dark, I've heard a blackbird singing away. And today I heard a dunnock singing properly rather than making its seep seep sound.

Today two goldfinches fed at the top sunflower hearts feeder. That was put there for when the greedy starlings, doves and pigeons didn't leave enough food for the house sparrows and it's the first time I've seen goldfinches there - they eat sunflower but normally at the hanger near the house, when there isn't room at the niger feeder. The second photo is rather poor but I managed to get a goldie just as it took off from next door's leylandii yesterday.
