Twenty Six House Sparrows

Yesterday a lone young starling flew onto the bird table, and immediately 5 sparrows followed, landing on the nearby fence and then feeding of the spilled food. This was the cue for other sparrows to feed at their preferred place at the top of the garden but one did notice the fat ball. Then they all flew off. A little while later the starling reappeared, this time spotting the food at the top of the garden and again, as though they realised it was safe sparrows descended.

I can count 26 sparrows in the above picture along with the starling. The photo is too wide to show in one piece so I've split it into 3. There's a sparrow partly hidden behind the marigold on the left not shown below.

Nine on the left, including dad feeding his lazy kid.          Seven in the middle.

And nine on the right plus a starling.
